How To Treat Razor Burn
Apply A Cold Compress

A cold compress can help reduce some of the symptoms of razor burn. The cold temperature reduces inflammation and itching. It also helps ease the pain of irritated skin. A cold compress can also speed healing and regeneration of damaged skin because it shrinks blood vessels and stimulates circulation. Individuals can make a cold compress with a rag or cloth and a few ice cubes. They should wrap the ice in the fabric and gently hold it against the inflamed skin, but should never apply ice directly to the skin. A cold compress can be applied to the affected area for fifteen to twenty minutes and reapplied as necessary. A cold washcloth can also be used as a cold compress if ice is not available. When the washcloth loses its coldness, individuals can simply wet it again with cold water from the tap or refrigerator. It wonât be as cold as the compress with ice, but it will have the same effect.
