Natural Treatments For Rosacea

Watch Alcohol Consumption Closely

Alcohol dilates the blood vessels, which is why so many people experience a flare-up of rosacea. The most problematic kinds of alcohol for rosacea are red wine, white wine, and beer. In addition to causing immediate flare-ups, alcohol also makes rosacea worse over time due to the cumulative effects it has on the heart and blood vessels. Because of the effects of alcohol on rosacea, people should reduce their consumption of it. Some consumption is okay. However, when people with rosacea do drink, they must drink a lot of water as well to counteract the effects of alcohol faster.

Make Healthy Dietary Choices

Many common foods are more irritating to the skin when it comes to rosacea. Yes, even though they don’t touch the skin! Common triggering foods are dairy products, fried food, spicy foods, citrus fruits, carbonated drinks, and chocolate. Many experts recommend adopting an alkaline diet. The best focus, of course, is to identify what foods are triggering and leave them out. When in doubt, consuming a diet full of fiber as well as fresh fruits and vegetables is great. Berries are a great choice! Balance is key, but ultimately reducing processed foods full of fat, sugar, and salt is a great start.
